Videos
​
Narrated videos help students understand how to pronounce new vocabulary and provide explanations of new material.
Video demonstrations make labs a snap! Either use the video before doing a lab at home, or save yourself some money and mess by observing the demonstration instead of doing the lab in your kitchen.
Student Pages
​
Students improve their memory and understanding of concepts by summarizing, defining vocabulary, and answering questions about the content.
​
Worksheets are used during PowerPoint presentations, as review, and during at-home labs. Both written and visual types of pages are included to provide options for all types of learning styles.
Labs​
​
Instructions for over 30 labs and activities are included in each course. Students can complete the labs at home or watch video demonstrations of each activity.

No expensive lab supply packages here!
Most labs can be completed using household materials. A lab supply list is provided with item numbers and websites for the best prices. Except for a microscope, scientific supplies total only about $30 per semester!
Each lab includes:
-Materials list
-Instructions for the activity
-Discussion questions so students can apply new concepts to the activity
-Adaptations and ideas for younger siblings and possible extensions or future experiments for advanced students.

Supplementary Resources​
​
For each weekly topic, students are provided with additional websites, links, and lab simulations that supplement and extend their thinking about the concepts they are learning.
Book lists are also provided so students can easily find related books in their local library to learn more about topics of particular interest.
These two options allow students to make choices about their learning, while staying within parameters of the weekly topic.

Quizzes & Tests​
​
Students can demonstrate their new-found knowledge through a 10-question quiz at the end of each chapter/week.
The quizzes are taken online and graded automatically. Working on mastery? No problem! Students can take the quizzes as many times as they'd like.
​
Every few weeks, students are provided with a written test. Although these tests can be helpful for preparing students for college or standardized testing, families are completely free to use the tests as desired: open-book, retaken for mastery, or skipped completely. Answer keys are provided to grade tests at home.
